Trimesters should go the way of the dodo

Trimesters should go the way of the Dodo bird, and for those who don’t know what a Dodo is well it doesn’t matter, because it is extinct. As it is MTHS is switching to semesters. Finally like most of the schools in America! MTHS was one of the only schools in the district to even run on trimesters.
In my own opinion semesters are so much better! Who thought of that brilliant trimester idea, hmm well instead of semesters and lean cut credits let’s makes things difficult and cut it into thirds. Think of it, a class that was only for a trimester (in the AOS, TAAS, and Renaissance) for those schools the credits worked out as .34 for each class that lasted a trimester, which in the end was about 2.08 credits per tri. For those in the Discovery and Innovation schools each class equaled .50 of a credit, which was a clean cut 2.00 credits in the end. Well that’s not fair that just because some students chose a school, which is supposed to fit their learning style, they get jipped of credits.
With semesters though the credits are as I said more “clean cut.” One class for one semester is .50 of a credit and if it is a two-semester class .50 plus .50 equals... well you can do the math. Yep. That’s right, one whole credit, which does not have to be rounded up. Think of it this way for those who really don’t like change. With trimesters your schedule changed two times a year (change form first to second, and second to third), but with semesters your schedule changes only once (from the first semester to the second) which happens to be one less change then two. That would make my school year just a little less stressful then it already is.
As far as running start goes. Doesn’t really matter now does it? Since, the end of a quarter at the college never lined up with the end of the tri at MTHS. I should know I did running start, and I was always out of class and on break before MTHS was anyway, so again the end of the quarter at the college, and at the end of a term at MTHS still does not line up. Making it really nothing new to the students who participate in running start. Although I do not know why this is the subject of debate seeming that a decision has been made to switch to semesters and making trimesters one step closer to going the way of the Dodo.
